Myorin-ji funeral

More than 700 years since the funeral in Oiso Town

It can be done because it is led by a temple that is not for profit

Low cost but prestigious funeral

~ Modern funerals are too expensive ~

In recent years, funeral ceremonies held at funeral halls have become commonplace, but I hear people say that they couldn't hold the funeral with peace of mind due to the high cost.

Therefore, the temple located in Oiso Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, has released the low-cost, "safe" temple burial that was originally performed for the Dan family, even for those who are not the Dan family.

A funeral at a general funeral company cannot be a good-looking funeral without spending money on altars, decorations, and flowers.

A good-looking funeral that can be convinced by the bereaved family and attendees can cost millions of yen.

However, since the main hall of the temple is originally magnificently decorated, it is possible to hold a prestigious funeral that everyone can understand without spending extra money.

The funeral is a very important "farewell party" that can only be held once in a lifetime.

Please use the temple funeral "Temple Funeral" where the bereaved family and attendees can farewell at a cost close to that of the cremation ceremony, instead of just cremation.

A funeral ceremony held by a temple, not a funeral company, for the memorial service of the Buddha

"Temple funeral"

~ Cremation ceremony that leaves only emptiness ~

The "cremation ceremony", in which the corpse is cremated directly from the morgue to the crematorium without a farewell ceremony such as a funeral, is one of the new ways of sending.

The cost of cremation is low and the number of users is increasing year by year, but what about the feelings of the bereaved family, relatives, friends, colleagues, and neighbors who wanted to say goodbye to the deceased?

It is painful for everyone to be cremated without being able to say goodbye.

The bereaved family would be very painful if they were told, "That family didn't let me say goodbye to the deceased without a funeral."

"Cremation ceremony" is a method of sending the deceased who leaves only emptiness.

In order to prevent the bereaved family from suffering, the temple holds a fine funeral at the same cost as a general cremation ceremony.

The funeral "temple funeral" led by the temple is not for profit but for the purpose of memorial service for the Buddha, so the high cost of a general funeral is not required.

Sometimes the deceased wants a simple cremation ceremony, but I often hear stories of the bereaved family who regretted feeling guilty because they couldn't make a proper memorial service even though they did the cremation ceremony as they wished.

The funeral is not only for the deceased, but also an important ritual for organizing the feelings of the bereaved family.

The funeral of the temple is 198,000 yen

A mechanism for a good funeral at a low price

Myorin-ji Temple has a system that allows you to hold a "good funeral" that you can be proud of to your relatives and attendees at a low price.

What is the mechanism of "low-priced but fine funeral" that funeral experts gathered and created over many years?

① The funeral is held by a temple for memorial service, not a funeral company for commercial purposes.

(2) The chief priest plays a central role in the operation, and the labor cost is suppressed by operating with a small number of staff.

③ Remove the factors that increase the cost of the funeral, such as "excessive entertainment expenses such as meals for attendees" and "excessive decoration of the altar that is not necessary", return the funeral to its original shape, and useless expenses. We are aiming for a funeral that anyone can use without spending money.

④ By holding a funeral at the main hall of the temple, there is no need to prepare decorations such as altars and flowers like the ceremony hall of a funeral company, and there is no need to pay for it.

⑤ A priest and a funeral expert spent seven years thinking and preparing how to make a good funeral at a low cost.

⑥ The temple has a sense of mission to hold a fine funeral that everyone can understand, regardless of the cost, for people living in the Shonan area for more than 700 years after the funeral in Oiso Town.

Fukujuyama Myorin-ji is a Nichiren-shu temple located in Oiso Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, with a history of more than 700 years.

FAQ

What should I do if the deceased dies?

Please call Myorinji Temple.

We will transport the body from the place where it passed away by the sleeping car to the morgue of Myorin-ji Temple.

Phone number 0465-25-3985

(24 hours for funerals only)

* At hospitals, etc., affiliated funeral companies are on standby to transport the bodies for a fee.

Please refuse when using Myorin-ji Temple.

It's cheaper than the cost of a typical funeral company, but why is it so cheap?

First of all, as a basic stance, temples are working to spread the wonders of Buddhism, not for commercial purposes.

The funeral was originally a Buddhist event led by a temple that the temple went to for the Danish believers.

Nowadays, funeral companies often take the lead instead of temples, but funeral ceremonies held at funeral companies' ceremony halls require decorations such as altars and flowers, which increases the cost.

Originally, the funeral that was held at the main hall of the temple does not require such excessive decoration, so there is no wasteful cost.

The main hall of the temple is the original place for funerals, and the temple burial of this temple is an activity to restore the funeral to its original shape, to spread the "temple funeral" that anyone can use with peace of mind without wasting money. doing.

Is it possible to use the "Myorin-ji funeral" at other temples, even though there are graves?

If there is such a family temple, the funeral of Myorin-ji is not available because the temple usually holds funerals for the Dan family.

If for some reason Bodaiji cannot hold a funeral, it can only be used with the permission of Bodaiji.

If you do not have Bodaiji Temple, anyone can use it regardless of denomination or denomination.

After using the temple burial, you do not need to become a member of the temple or a believer, and there is no solicitation, so please use it with confidence.

Is the cost of the cremation itself not included in the plan?

Cremation costs depend on the address of the deceased.

For example, if the address of the deceased person is in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, cremation in Hiratsuka City is free of charge.

If the address of the deceased person is in Oiso Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, a subsidy will be provided from Oiso Town.

As you can see, the cost of cremation depends on the address of the deceased person, so the cost is not included in the plan.

I'm worried because I've never been in the main hall of a temple

At Myorin-ji Temple, a memorial service called "Shinkokai" is held for 30 minutes from 10 am on the first Sunday of every month.

If you participate in the Shinkokai, you can experience what the memorial service is like in the main hall.

No reservation is required, so feel free to join us.

Is it possible to prepare flowers and dishes by myself?

of course. Flowers and food cannot be brought in at regular funerals, but the temple places the highest priority on the convenience of the bereaved family, so you are free to arrange flowers and food.

Please serve and clean up with the bereaved family.

It is also possible for us to arrange food etc. on your behalf at no additional charge.

I don't know which plan is more suitable for me, "family funeral plan" or "general funeral plan".

The "general funeral plan" is the most standard plan of the temple, and it is a generous funeral that can be convinced by the bereaved family, attendees, etc.

The "Family Funeral Plan" is a funeral procession method that cuts down on all costs and provides the minimum necessary memorial service, which is the lowest cost of any funeral company.

"Family funeral" does not mean that only family members can attend.

Any number of people can attend.

What should I prepare for an emergency?

It may be unlucky to prepare for the funeral in advance, but if nothing is prepared, the remaining family members may have a hard time at the funeral.

First of all, we suggest that you take the picture you want to make into a ghost picture. It is important to discuss the funeral in advance (pre-need consultation) not only with the person himself but also with his family.

And it is also important to write down the person who can come to the funeral (the person who wants to contact) because it is fine.

Is there any cost other than the price shown?

One day's worth of dry ice to keep the body cool is included in each plan, but additional costs will be incurred.

When transporting the body to the Myorinji Morgue, an additional cost will be incurred even if it is more than 20 km from the place of departure.

In the case of sudden death or a traffic accident, it will be a police case and a police autopsy will be required.

In that case, an autopsy / diagnosis fee will be charged to the police.

The cremation fee is not included in the plan as it varies depending on the municipality.

Funeral offerings are included in the cost.

For Buddhists, Myorin-ji will award the Dharma name free of charge.

Will there be any costs after burying the ashes at the funeral and the optional permanent memorial tomb?

The burial of the permanent memorial tomb of this temple and the marine scatter are all permanent memorial services, so there is no cost after the burial.

Our temple is responsible for offering the Buddha as a memorial service for many generations.

At Myorin-ji Temple's spring and autumn equinoctial week and Obon festival, the Buddhist memorial service is held for a long time, so please feel free to attend.

In addition, if you wish to have an individual annual memorial service, please make a reservation for the memorial service.

A short-form memorial service in front of the permanent memorial tomb is 5,000 yen, and a formal memorial service at the main hall is 30,000 yen.

If you have a small number of people, we recommend a short-form legal affair, and if you have a large number of people, we recommend a formal legal affair at the main hall.

Why can't I have a funeral on "Tomobiki" day?

"Tomobiki" is one of Rokuyo and comes from the superstition that it draws friends to unlucky events.

Originally, Rokuyo has nothing to do with Buddhism, so it is not a Buddhist problem to hold a funeral as a friend.

The reason why we do not hold funerals at Tomobiki is that many crematoriums are closed for the above reasons.

I am a member of the Mutual Aid Society. Can I use the mutual aid society reserve fund at this funeral?

The mutual aid association reserve fund can only be used for funerals at the funeral company that operates the mutual aid association.

If you are already a member of the Mutual Aid Society but would like to use the funeral of this temple, we recommend that you cancel the Mutual Aid Society and use the refunded reserve fund.

The Mutual Aid Association requires a fee when canceling, but even if the fee is deducted, the funeral of this temple may be cheaper and more prestigious.

First of all, please estimate how much funeral you can do with the mutual aid society reserve fund and compare the cost and contents of the funeral of this temple.

Is it possible to pay my funeral expenses in advance so as not to burden my family before I live?

At the funeral of this temple, there is a prepaid system for such people.

If you pay the funeral expenses in advance, you can hold the funeral after you pass away at no additional charge.

In the case of advance payment, even if you are not a member of "Ren no Kai", we will guide you at the member price.

Furthermore, prepaid users will upgrade the urn and casket to luxury products free of charge.

Normally, a prepaid system such as a funeral company's mutual aid society charges a fee when canceling when you change your mind, but even if you change your mind, you do not need to pay any fee at the time of cancellation and you will be refunded in full. Please be assured that you will be charged.

I'd like to consult in advance, but I can't go out because I'm physically handicapped.
