We perform a heartfelt pet burial that is no different from the funeral, cremation, and bone-laying that is performed when a human dies.

Myorin-ji is responsible for everything from funerals and cremations for pets, to burial to pet graves, to permanent memorial services.
① Pet dies
The sadness of losing an important family member is immeasurable.
However, care is needed to prevent damage to the body until cremation.
The corpse will begin to stiffen about two hours after you die, so close your eyes and mouth and gently bend your legs before stiffening.
After death, body fluids may come out from the mouth and anus, so it is recommended to stuff cotton wool or tissue into the mouth and anus.
Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible, put ice in an ice pack or vinyl, and apply it to your abdomen and hips to prevent damage to your body as much as possible.
If you apply dry ice directly, it may freeze, so wrap it in a towel and apply it.
In the summer, we recommend using an air conditioner to lower the room temperature to the bottom.

* It may not be possible to hold a funeral on the desired date due to the legal affairs of the temple.

For these people, we also offer nighttime funerals, cremations, and bones.
* Flower altars may not be available for funerals outside the flower shop's business hours.
In that case, the flower fee will be deducted from your payment.
③ Visit the temple
Please come to the temple 30 minutes before the funeral start time.
I will explain the flow from the funeral to the bone delivery.
Please attend the funeral in plain clothes that your pet is accustomed to, not in formal wear.
④ Funeral
A funeral will be held at the main hall of Myorinji Temple, which has a history of 700 years.
Some people may be worried because they don't understand the funeral behavior and customs, but don't worry, we will explain it.
⑤ Cremation
A cremation ceremony will be held outside the main hall using a cremation car.
Cremation is performed by a cremation craftsman with all his heart.
The cremation time depends on the size of the body, but it will be about 1 to 2 hours.
Please wait in the waiting room of the main hall during the cremation.
After the cremation, we will pick up the bones, but if it is difficult to raise the bones, we will pick up the bones here.
⑥ Place the ashes at home
After death, the creature embarks on a long journey of 49 days.
During the journey, a trial is held every 7 days to see if the creature should be a Buddhahood.
And the day of the last trial is 49 days.
On this day, the creature becomes a Buddha, which is called the Buddhahood.
For 49 days after the cremation, please leave your ashes at home and pray for your pet's Buddhahood from the bottom of your heart.
At Myorin-ji Temple, I pray for the Buddhahood every morning.
* For those who cannot keep their ashes at home until the 49th, it is possible to perform a bone-laying memorial service immediately after cremation and deliver the bones to a pet grave.
⑦ Forty-ninth day memorial service
Forty-nine days after the anniversary of your death, you will be asked to come to the temple with your remains and perform the memorial service on the 49th.
Please pray with all your heart so that your pet, who is a member of the family, can become a Buddhahood.
⑧ Bone laying method
In front of the pet grave, we will perform a bone-laying ceremony for bone-laying.
After the bone-laying ceremony, the ashes will be placed in the pet grave.
After that, we will be offering a memorial service for many generations in the spring and autumn equinoctial week, Obon festival, and daily work.

Those who wish to burial at sea with the ashes
For those who want to return the remains of their deceased pets to the great circulation of nature instead of burying them in the grave, we perform marine burial at sea for pets.
The chief priest of Myorin-ji, who is also a first-class ship operator, will steer himself and perform marine scatter burial at sea.
The marine burial at sea is performed during the spring and autumn equinoctial week.
Since the burial at sea is a substitute for the burial at sea, the priest is responsible for the marine scatter of the pet's ashes.
