In Nichiren sect, we pray with a Buddhist tool called a wooden sword.

At Myorindo, designer wooden swords are made from various types of Karaki, which are rare materials for wooden swords, such as rosewood, golden senna, and iron sword wood.

Unlike common wooden sword materials such as boxwood, cherry blossoms, and holly, Karaki's wooden sword has a vivid luster and grain that makes prayers gorgeous.

Myorindo makes wooden swords from various types of wood.

Golden dan wooden sword

Central America is the origin of wood.

The wood is moderately hard, tough and has excellent impact resistance.

It is a wood used as a material for furniture, Buddhist altars, and musical instruments in Japan.

Although it has a bright grain, it also has the drawback that the characters written on the wooden sword are difficult to see.

Rosewood wooden sword

Southeast Asia is the production area of wood.

Rosewood, one of the three major Karaki trees, is a wood that is often used in Buddhist altars and mortuary tablets. The wood is dense and has extremely strong decay resistance.

Iron sword wooden sword

The wood is produced in Thailand, India, Myanmar, etc.

It is also one of the three major Karaki trees.

It is called "iron sword wood" because it is a very hard wood and "like an iron sword".

African rosewood wooden sword

It is a wood produced in tropical Africa and is also called "bubinga".

The wood is heavy and strong, and is sticky to breaks and tears.

Recently, it is also used as a material for the body of Japanese drums.

Producer priest bite memo

A wooden sword that emphasizes design. The grain of wood is very vivid, but depending on the grain of wood, the characters written on the wooden sword may not be visible.

As you can see from the size, it is a little smaller and thinner than a general wooden sword.

Karaki is a very hard and dense wood, so if you cut it thicker, the sound will not sound much.

Because it is small, it is very easy to grip and your fingers do not get tired.

Considering the burden on the fingers, the corners are sharpened a little, but if it is better to keep the corners sharp, we will make it without sharpening.

Karaki is a very dense wood, so the sound is very high and produces a sound close to the sound of metal.

If the original size is too small, we will make a custom-made size wooden sword for +5,000 yen.

Myorindo makes wooden swords from various types of wood. It is also possible to make an original wooden sword with the desired wood.

This Buddhist tool is for monks only.
