February / February

This mountain is dedicated to Kumaou Inari, the guardian deity of the prosperous business of Oiso-juku.

Kumaou Inari of Myowa-ji is a branch of Kumaou Daizenjin, which was enshrined in the precincts of Ankokuronji Temple in Matsubagayatsu, Kamakura, in Myowa-ji. It is said that a part of the good material of the five-storied pagoda of Ryuko-ji Temple, the site of the Nichiren sect, was rebuilt at the Kumaou Inari shrine of Myorin-ji Temple, which was destroyed by fire.

In February, the Shinkokai will hold an Inari Festival at the same time to thank Kumaou Inari for his daily gratitude and pray for the further development and prosperity of the industry.

March Spring Equinox Day September Autumn Equinox Day Spring / Autumn Higankai Honor

This world with a lot of suffering is called "Konogishi". On the other hand, the world of relief away from the opposite suffering is called "Higan". It was an event to memorialize the spirits of ancestors by combining the Buddhist idea of leaving the world of desires and reaching the state of enlightenment with the traditional Japanese ancestral memorial service.

The equinox is held twice a year, on the spring equinox day in March and the autumn equinox day in September.

There are various theories as to why the equinox day is held on the spring and autumn equinox days. Since the sun rises from the east and sets to the west in the spring and autumn equinoxes, the theory is that there is pure soil there and the memorial service is performed. There are various theories, such as the theory of performing a memorial service.

April / April

Early April Birthday Party (Flower Festival)

April 8th is Buddha's birthday.

At the Shinkokai in April, we will hold a flower festival memorial service to celebrate Buddha's birthday.

From the legend that when the Buddha was born, nine dragons from heaven poured rain of sweet dew and let it soak in the hot water, so we decorated the Hanamido, placed the birth Buddha in it, and poured sweet tea from above. I worship at.

There is a legend that drinking this amacha has the benefit of improving health and eliminating bad luck, so after the memorial service, everyone will enjoy amacha with a wish.

July / August / July Aug.

Mid-July (for Tokyo) Mid-August (for Shonan) Shelf Sutra

During the Obon festival, a spirit shelf will be set up in front of the Buddhist altar at home to welcome ancestors.

When a priest visits a layman's home and chanting sutras in front of the spirit shelf, it is called a sutra.

We will visit Tokyo / Kawasaki / Yokohama in mid-July and Shonan in mid-August.

The priest's favorite car, the three-wheeled motorcycle "Myowa-go", will fly to the home of the Danish believers.

August / August

August 16 Myorin-ji Temple Segaki Hosho

It is said in Obon that the spirits of our ancestors return to us once a year.

The memorial service for gratitude to their ancestors is the Segaki memorial service.

Segaki was a memorial service for the hungry demons who had fallen into the hungry road and were suffering.

Nowadays, not only hungry demons but also ancestral spirits, as well as unrelated spirits with no mourners and spirits who died in accidents are memorialized.

November / November

Early November Oeshiki memorial service

The memorial service held around October 13th, which is the anniversary of the death of Nichiren Saints, is called the "Oeshiki".

On the anniversary of the death of the great saint, the ceremony is a memorial service for gathering with the Danish believers, chanting sutras and themes, and re-engraving the teachings of the great saints in their hearts.

At the oeshiki, a tower-like mando will be displayed in the precincts, and artificial cherry blossoms will be displayed in the main hall.

This is due to the fact that on the day the saint Nichiren died, the cherry tree leaning against the saint bloomed out of season.

Every month

First Sunday of every month

There is a social gathering at 10 am on the first Sunday of every month.

The Danish believers will visit and read the sutras with the chief priest, listen to commentary, and learn about the history of Buddhism and Nichiren saints. There is also practice of "Shomyo," which is one of the Buddhist music with clauses in the Buddhist scriptures. If you don't understand the sutras at all, have never chanted them, or are interested in Buddhism, please come and visit us.

The Shinkokai is open to the general public. It is very good for your health to chanting sutras aloud from the bottom of your stomach.

Every time at the Shinkokai, we hand out "substitute tags" for the month. After the party, we will prepare tea and sweets, so please come by all means.

Every month

Third Saturday of every month
